Before choosing an artifact, check which module it affects and what you must do to activate its effect. A large-looking bonus can contribute little when it targets the wrong slot or requires abilities your castle does not yet have.

Benefit
Match the module slot
First identify what is doing the work in your current run. If you are relying on the Ram, compare a front-module damage effect with the other choices. A bonus for side modules serves a different part of the castle.
Read the scope of the effect before its number: one named module, a slot category or a broader part of the loadout. Then check whether you have a matching target equipped. A smaller bonus that applies now can be more useful than a larger one with nothing to improve.
Check the activation condition
Count the abilities needed to activate a conditional effect. A cooldown refund requiring three different active abilities needs a loadout that can perform that sequence. With only two equipped actives, you cannot complete a three-ability trigger yet.
Immediate benefit or future setup?
If you take a conditional effect early, name the missing piece: another active ability, the right module or an action you must perform during combat. Otherwise, choose an effect you can already use. This keeps a future plan from being mistaken for an immediate power increase.
Once you have the required abilities, consider whether you can actually use the sequence during the encounters you are facing. Read the timing requirement in the current item description before planning around it.
Solve the current problem
| Your obstacle | Decision to make |
|---|---|
| Your hits connect but do too little | Compare damage improvements that affect that weapon. |
| The active is unavailable at useful moments | Compare relevant cooldown effects and their conditions. |
| You cannot get into or out of position | Review nitro, movement choices and your route. |
| A bonus does not seem to help | Recheck its slot and activation requirement. |
After choosing, watch for the result in the next manageable encounter. Did the active become available when needed? Did the improved module participate? Use that answer to guide the next choice.
