Wanderburg is now available through its Steam Early Access release. The launch announcement said the old Steam demo would be retired on launch day because it no longer represented the current game. Older demo and closed-playtest instructions should not be treated as a current free download offer.
Can I still get the old demo?
Start from the main game’s Steam page to see the current purchase and installation options. The developer retired the previous demo with the Early Access launch on September 8, 2026. An old video description or search result can continue mentioning a demo after its availability changes.
If a demo remains in your own library, its presence does not mean it has the same equipment, balance or progression as the current Early Access game. Check the application and version before using current upgrade values.
How do playtests differ from Early Access?
A playtest is a separate testing opportunity whose entry depends on the developer’s current announcement. Early Access is the released Steam game that is still being developed. Buying the main game and requesting a test slot are different actions.
Use current announcements for future testing opportunities. An old closed-playtest announcement does not guarantee invitations are open today, and the wiki does not distribute keys or test access.
Using an older build guide
Match the guide’s mechanics to your installed version. Early hotfixes changed turret speed, Side Ballista attacks, captain penalties, controller options and nitro timing. A familiar equipment name does not guarantee an old numerical bonus still applies.
Use the current database to inspect an effect, then read the corresponding build’s upgrade order. If you are learning from an older demo video, copy the general positioning idea only after confirming that the required module and artifact conditions still exist in your game.
