Games like Wanderburg: choose by the part you enjoy

EARLY ACCESS · SEPTEMBER 2026

For Wanderburg’s growing horde-fighting power, compare Vampire Survivors. For compact weapon-and-item decisions, compare Brotato. For building a vehicle from parts, compare TerraTech. These games share different parts of the experience, so start with the mechanic you want more of.

Vampire Survivors: growing power against hordes

Vampire Survivors focuses on time survival and combinations that let a character handle increasingly crowded encounters. It suits the part of Wanderburg where a few early choices develop into a much stronger damage engine.

The comparison is about progression and enemy pressure. You control a character rather than assembling and steering a wheeled fortress. Choose it when you want to concentrate on survival and upgrade combinations instead of lining up castle weapon angles.

Brotato: focused weapon and item decisions

Brotato is a top-down arena roguelite built around a character wielding up to six weapons. Traits, items and weapon choices create different approaches to fighting waves of enemies.

It is a useful comparison if you enjoy choosing a core damage plan and making the rest of the equipment support it. The arena and character movement replace Wanderburg’s vehicle steering, so it emphasizes a different kind of positioning.

TerraTech: modular vehicle building

TerraTech is the closer comparison for constructing a vehicle from parts and taking that creation into a sandbox world. It suits players who are more interested in how a machine is assembled than in following a fixed sequence of short roguelite runs.

Its building and exploration emphasis is different from Wanderburg’s consume-and-upgrade loop. Choose based on that distinction: a game can offer extensive vehicle customization without reproducing the same captain, artifact or stage progression.

Try a different Wanderburg playstyle first

If steering is the issue, compare the controller driving styles before changing games. If the starting weapon feels too narrow, try an available ranged or pursuit-based core and develop its automatic attack before adding support.

The five build guides cover turret positioning, mine routes, Ram collisions, cannon broadsides and summon armies. Pick the one that changes the part of the run you want to improve, then compare its unlock requirements with the equipment you already own.
