Wanderburg 0.9.14 patch notes

GAME UPDATE ·

Start with two artifact rerolls, heal 25 HP with Repair Wrench and hit 7 base targets with Electric Mage. Allied-unit immunity and achievement fixes also arrive.

What changed and how to use it

A second Artifact Reroll is now available from the start. Unlock-based bonuses remain separate: every six unlocked artifacts adds an Artifact Reroll, while every six unlocked modules adds a New Module Reroll.

Repair Wrench changed from a percentage heal to a flat 25 HP. Electric Mage, listed as Lightning Mage in the database, now attacks 7 targets at base instead of 5; its upgrades grant more targets per attack. Roaming Storm also received a robustness fix.

Allied units are immune to fire, stun and knockback. They were already invincible; these additional immunities do not make the player castle invincible. Boss fights now zoom out slightly, and some larger enemies no longer take percentage-based damage from boss explosions.

The update fixes Welcome to the Desert, Tinderbox and the Overworld skull display. It also adjusts overtime enemy stun resistances, caps the main menu and Overworld at 240 FPS, and improves escape-menu interaction, leaderboard loading and map generation.

For progression, read the starting and unlock-based reroll rules. For survival, compare Repair Wrench with other healing options.

Which Wanderburg builds benefit?

The Spiderburg Lightning and Mortar build gains automatic target coverage between active bursts. Keep the burst and escape rotation: overtime stun resistances also changed, so additional lightning targets do not guarantee a longer stun on a boss.

Barracks Army and Companion builds can keep their allied units moving through fire, stun and knockback effects. The castle still takes damage. Circle within the army's reach and preserve an exit. Compare all Wanderburg builds and their key cards before changing the whole loadout.

Welcome to the Desert, Tinderbox and boss fights

If Welcome to the Desert is stuck, install 0.9.14 or later and check its Steam status. The patch fixes the achievement; it does not specify whether older saves receive retroactive credit.

Tinderbox and Electric Mage's Roaming Storm received fixes. Boss fights zoom out slightly. Some larger enemies no longer take percentage-based boss-explosion damage, so do not rely on a nearby boss death to remove every large target.

The 240 FPS limit applies to the main menu and Overworld. It is a cap, not a claim that combat or Steam Deck will run at 240 FPS.

Equipment changes

  • Repair Wrench now heals a flat 25 HP when discarding an upgrade, replacing the previous 25% heal.
  • Lightning Mage (Electric Mage) automatic base targets increased from 5 to 7. Upgrades add more targets, and Roaming Storm is more robust.
  • A Tinderbox artifact bug was fixed in 0.9.14.
  • Allied units are now immune to fire, stun and knockback. Their existing invincibility is unchanged; the player castle still needs a safe route.
  • Overtime enemy stun resistances were adjusted in 0.9.14. Keep an escape ready if a target resists your stun.
